Local Euro MP reopens a Hull base1.19.49pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 8th Apr 2008
Yorkshire & the Humber Liberal Democrat Euro MP, Diana Wallis, has re-established a local base in Hull after a couple of years absence by taking up space in the recently opened Hull Liberal Democrats' office on Springbank. Diana Wallis MEP had an office in the Land of Green Ginger from when she was first elected to the European Parliament in 1999. However the lease was not renewed when the owner wanted to turn the building into apartments. Although she has maintained a presence through her office in Brough, Diana Wallis MEP, a Vice President of the European Parliament, is pleased to be back in the city. "We have good links with the local community in Hull already, but this move will strengthen those links with the city, especially as we are campaigning hard on a number of issues such as breaking up the local broadband monopoly and scrapping the tolls on the Humber Bridge." ends.
