Sheffield's Lib Dem Euro MP learns more about Sheffield Cathedral's Development Project3.26.12pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 21st Jul 2005
Diana Wallis MEP, Liberal Democrat for Yorkshire & the Humber, met the Dean of Sheffield Cathedral, Peter Bradley, yesterday to learn more about the Cathedral's Development Project. The project will, amongst other things, provide for a new community resource centre and is using of EU Objective 1 funding. The EU in fact is the largest donor to the project. Diana Wallis MEP said following the visit: "This is an excellent regeneration project which is helping to alleviate some of the problems of the inner-city through the support and care to vulnerable and homeless people. The whole Development Project is really exciting and is going to be a wonderful addition to the amenities in Sheffield. The Dean and his team deserve a lot of praise for effecting their vision so well."
